Honestly, it’s not hard to make the gravy and I was a bit skeptical as to why anyone would need to speed up the process by cooking it in the Instant Pot. I gave it a go this past weekend…..and I am a believer! I wouldn’t say that it’s quicker to make the gravy in the Instant Pot but it comes out SO MUCH CREAMIER! I was impressed and will make it in the Instant Pot from now on.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound of breakfast sausage
  • 2 tablespoons bacon fat
  • ½ cup of chicken broth
  • ½ cup of flour
  • 3 cups of milk
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • Your favorite biscuits- I used canned biscuits for this recipe

Instructions:

  1. Make your favorite biscuits according to the recipe or the instructions on the can
  2. Turn on your Instant Pot and select the sauté function
  3. Add the sausage and cook until browned- about 5 minutes
  4. Be sure to crumble the sausage with a spatula or spoon
  5. Add in chicken broth and bacon fat
  6. Stir until bacon fat has melted and ingredients are combined
  7. Place the lid on the Instant Pot and set the valve to seal.Cook on high pressure for 5 minutes
  8. In a separate bowl (or large mason jar with lid) mix flour and milk together until fully incorporated.
  9. When timer beeps, move valve to vent and quick release all pressure.
  10. Remove lid

  12. Add in salt and pepper
