Garlic Butter Shrimp Pasta

Ingredients

  • 1 pound spaghetti
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Chopped parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook until al dente, following package instructions. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti and set it aside.
  2. In a large pan, melt the butter over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and red pepper flakes, and cook for about 2 minutes, or until fragrant.
  3. Add the shrimp, salt, and pepper, and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until pink and cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the pan and set them aside.
  4. Add the heavy cream to the pan and stir until it thickens slightly, about 2 minutes.
  5. Add the Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and smooth.
  6. Add the cooked spaghetti and shrimp to the pan, and toss to coat in the sauce. If the sauce seems too dry, add some of the reserved pasta water to thin it out.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately. Enjoy!
