- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 cup Panko bread crumbs
- Oil for frying
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- Cut off the stem end of each jalapeno pepper and slice them in half lengthwise. Remove the seeds and membranes with a spoon.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and salt. Mix well.
- Fill each pepper half with the cream cheese mixture.
- In a shallow dish, combine the flour and milk to make a batter.
- Pour the Panko bread crumbs into another shallow dish.
- Dip each pepper half first into the batter and then into the bread crumbs, making sure to coat it well.
- Heat up the oil in a deep fryer or a large pot to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- Use tongs to carefully place each pepper half into the hot oil. Fry for about 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the peppers from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain off any excess oil.
- Transfer the peppers to a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
