Ingredients:

  • 12 jalapeno peppers
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup Panko bread crumbs
  • Oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Cut off the stem end of each jalapeno pepper and slice them in half lengthwise. Remove the seeds and membranes with a spoon.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and salt. Mix well.
  4. Fill each pepper half with the cream cheese mixture.
  5. In a shallow dish, combine the flour and milk to make a batter.
  6. Pour the Panko bread crumbs into another shallow dish.
  7. Dip each pepper half first into the batter and then into the bread crumbs, making sure to coat it well.
  8. Heat up the oil in a deep fryer or a large pot to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  9. Use tongs to carefully place each pepper half into the hot oil. Fry for about 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  10. Remove the peppers from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain off any excess oil.
  11. Transfer the peppers to a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  12. Serve hot and enjoy!
