Jewel Pilaf – Delicious and Easy Kid Friendly Rice
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoon butter or oil
- 1 tablespoon onion, sliced
- 1 green cardamom (optional)
- 1 small piece of cinnamon (optional)
- ½ cup rice
- ½ teaspoon salt or according to taste
- 1 cup hot water
- ½ cup dried jewel fruits, cut into pieces (apricot, golden raisin, cranberry)
Instructions:
- Wash rice and drain all water.
- In a deep pan, heat butter or oil. Add the onion slices and fry till slightly golden.
- Add rice, cardamom, cinnamon and fry about 1-2 minutes.
- Add salt and the hot water. At the sight of the first bubble, reduce heat to low.
- Add the fruits, cover the pan and cook until desired softness is achieved depending on your child’s taste.
