French Toast
Super Easy Cinnamon Sugar French Toast Sticks. They take less than 15 minutes to make and are so much better than store-bought! Caramelized on the outside and fluffy on the inside!
Ingredients:
- 4 slices Texas toast, day old, sliced into strips (I got 4 strips from each piece of toast)
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup milk
- ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- pinch of nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions:
- Add eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg to a medium bowl. Whisk to combine. Set aside.
- In another medium bowl combine brown sugar, granulated sugar and cinnamon. Stir to combine. Set aside.
- Heat skillet or griddle and spray with nonstick spray or coat with butter.
- Dip bread into the egg mixture and allow any excess to drip off. Add to the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side. (I like the outside to get crispy and caramelized)
- Immediately after cooking add the french toast sticks to the cinnamon and sugar mixture and toss to coat.
- Serve immediately with maple syrup.
